Listen to Ron's story
My bracelet represents being myself with pride.
Being closeted in high school during the 80s was so hard. I didn't know of any support groups. My family was also very conservative, so coming out wasn’t an option.
Decades later, I broke down to a friend and told her everything. She supported me unconditionally during that time. She gave me this bracelet, which I continue to cherish as a symbol of our lifelong connection.
After coming out, I committed to supporting local LGBTQ+ initiatives. I don't want anyone to suffer the way I did. I want other LGBTQ+ people to know that there is a community waiting for you with open arms.
