Listen to Dana's story
This pin reminds me that the world is filled with people with genuine love and respect for humankind.
That feeling was important to me when I felt isolated from my non-Jewish peers at work. Seeking some sense of connection, I started volunteering at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in D.C. and received this pin.
There, I was surrounded by folks from all walks of life, so open-minded and compassionate. It gave me space to develop meaningful conversations and friendships.
As I wear my pin now, I recognize that it's my duty to reach out to others who may not have a strong sense of belonging to a community.
