Camille B.'s Stethoscope

My first stethoscope reminds me of my calling to help others.

As I bounced around growing up, it was hard to adjust. I never knew where I truly belonged. That search continued until I joined the community of nurses and doctors I work alongside today.

There's solidarity in working toward the same goal of keeping people healthy. We have to nurture and respect each other if we want to make our patients feel at home and at ease.

A stethoscope teaches you to listen closely, a metaphor I keep with me all the time. In listening, we have the opportunity to make a better, healthier, more welcoming world for each other.
